As it has become more difficult in these modern times to sell and buy a new property, many people across the UK are considering improving their current home rather than buying another. This is not only more cost effective, but it gives home owners the chance to be creative with the space they have in their properties.
Obviously, this all depends on budget. A larger budget could buy a loft extension, opening up 30% of unused space. Also, you could invest in a conservatory or even an extra bedroom or larger kitchen. However, most people tend to forget about their bathrooms.
Bathrooms are more difficult to extend because of the plumbing involved, but 48% of people say that they have "rarely" thought about even redecorating their bathroom space. This is alarming because a bathroom is a practical room where a lot of time is spent on a daily basis. A modern bathroom with up-to-date units is a great way of not only modernising your home, but also adding a considerable value to your property.
Avocado coloured bathroom suites with patterned tiles are a thing of the past. It is now about clean cut, white, simple units with white tiles and large windows. This allows an extraordinary amount of natural light to flood the room, giving it an instant boost and this in turn can make the room look bigger.
A company specialising in bath design in Cheshire stated, "Many people think bathrooms are too expensive to make over, and it is easier to just slap a bit of paint on another room to redecorate it rather than hauling up a load of tiles and plumbing. In short, this is not the case. We have worked on many bathrooms in Cheshire and you would be surprised how cost effective the improvement can be. It can usually be completed within two or three days and the results are always first class."
